Groundbreaking of THE FRIEDENAUER with OFB and Kieback&Peter

Together with OFB Projektentwicklung and numerous guests, Kieback&Peter celebrated the official groundbreaking today for our future company headquarters in the innovative building complex THE FRIEDENAUER at Innsbrucker Platz in Berlin. Among the attendees were the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, the District Mayor of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Jörn Oltmann, as well as our Managing Partner Christoph Ritzkat.
As the anchor tenant, Kieback&Peter will occupy approximately 7,000 square meters of ESG-compliant new construction from mid-2027, bringing together our Berlin locations under one roof. THE FRIEDENAUER will thus become not only our new headquarters but also a showcase for our intelligent and sustainable building automation.
THE FRIEDENAUER represents far more to us than just new office space: it symbolizes a visionary collaboration that brings digital and sustainable innovations to life. We are proud to significantly contribute with our intelligent building automation to shaping future-ready urban districts – and to demonstrate together with OFB how digitalization and sustainability can go hand in hand.
A Symbolic Moment with a View to the Future

A special highlight of the event was the ceremonial laying of the cornerstone: following the speeches by project stakeholders, the guests of honor signed a certificate, which was then placed into a time capsule along with symbolic items. These included an informational brochure from Kieback&Peter, construction plans, coins, a daily newspaper, and the official certificate from the City of Berlin. The sealed capsule was then embedded in the foundation stone – a powerful symbol of our joint commitment to a sustainable future.
A Place for Innovation, Sustainability, and Collaboration

The 47.5-meter-tall building complex is being developed on an 8,700 m² site and will offer a total of approximately 21,000 m² of rental space. In addition to office spaces, retail and dining facilities are also planned. The project is part of the Friedenauer Höhe neighborhood development, which will include a total of 1,060 residential units and a spacious public park.
Our building automation will be fully integrated into the project and will serve as the foundation for its planned climate-neutral operation. A key highlight is the pilot project for heat recovery from a combined sewer system, in cooperation with Berliner Wasserbetriebe – an innovative contribution to sustainable energy supply.
Our New Headquarters – A Milestone on the Path to Climate Neutrality

By moving into THE FRIEDENAUER, we are creating a modern, connected workplace with attractive amenities for our employees – including an employee restaurant, outdoor fitness areas, modern lounge spaces, and excellent transport connections.
The building is being developed in accordance with EU taxonomy standards and is aiming for DGNB and WiredScore certifications.
